November newsletter

HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE
THIS WEEK! NOV 4-7
WED-SAT 10-5
It's hard to believe that it's almost upon us...you know, the shopping frenzy, the frosty mornings, the hot drinks by the fire--everything that spells HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

We hope you will join us to kick off the season, with a delightful appetizer and dessert buffet all week! We'll be sampling all of our wonderful cheeseballs and dips, and will have some wonderful baked goods made up from our cookbooks, like Pumpkin Gooeys, Classic Brownies, Harvest Bars and Butterscotch Fudge! Not only will you get a terrific tasting, but many of these will translate into perfect gifts for those on your list...teachers, pastors, neighbors, cheese and chocoholics, too!

You are welcome to join us just for tasting and shopping, but why not make a reservation for lunch, too--the November menu is a delight-check it out at http://www.carolinalily.com/, click Quick Menus. The garden is still looking surprisingly pretty for this time of year, so come enjoy!

Of course we will have loads more than food to capture your attention--lots of pretties for Christmas, and loads of items on special! All the Fall and Summer items will be reduced by 30-50%, plus individual markdowns throughout, Our yummy compote that is oh-so-good on cream cheese is on special, with Buy 2, get the 2nd 1/2 off, while supplies last.

Our Halloweenies event was a big hit--Deputy Anne Ingram's dog, Sheriff Heidi is pictured below. It rained on our parade (can't believe I just said that!) but Carol Allen was here to take photos of all the participants and are they darling! Best Overall went to Jennifer and her dog, Duke, who came as a Flower and Bee. Check them all out on video at Carol's site: http://www.carolallenphoto.com/

Sorry! Had to eliminate the pic in order to get the email to send!

Coming Up Next:
We're having a Post Parade Party on Wed Nov 25th--from 3-5 pm. Join us for complementary cookies and cocoa...and shopping!

Our popular I'm Thankful for you Tea will be held on Sat Nov 28th at 11:30 and 1:00. Invite someone you are truly thankful to have in your life--let them know they are appreciated!

Around and About:
I visited a darling place in Marshville recently, Olde Tyme Marketplace. It is in old general store building that was used by Oprah in filming the Color Purple. Owner Beth Swanson has done the old store proud--that gal can display! And has a wonderful blend of old and new for sale. I was absolutely delighted, and you will be too. Check her out at http://www.oldetymemarketplace.blogspot.com/. She has an Open House coming up Dec 4-6, which includes a Candlelight Night. 121 N. White St. Marshville 704 942 6258. I would say it is a Don't Miss!!

Our own local general store in Salisbury, OKEY DOKEY, is planning an afternoon of food and fun on Sun Nov 22 from 11-5. They plan to have vendors display inside and outside that date--if you are an artisan/crafter give Bette a call about setting up. If you haven't been, it is a charming old country store right downtown at 126 E. Innes St. 704-645-8744. Several stores in downtown will start opening on Sundays-so plan to spend the whole afternoon!

We're working on a new scarecrow for the garden--holiday version! Come see!
